River Wye Weekend Itinerary Hereford to Ross on Wye
Friday 21st September:
Travel to Tresseck Campsite, Hoarwithy, Hereford HR2 6QH. Either cook own meal or eat in the local, The New Harp Inn.
Saturday 22nd September:
9.30 hrs (approximately) launch from Hereford Rowing Club. Paddle 17 miles back to campsite.
Afternoon arrive at campsite, tea and cakes. Vehicle collection from HRC.
Evening communal BBQ and campfire.
Sunday 23rd September
10.00hrs (approximately) paddle to The Steps, Hope and Anchor Ross on Wye
Please note you will need to bring own food, drinks and snacks for the whole weekend.
If any body has and can bring firewood, that would be appreciated.
Paddling £3 per day each
Launching at HRC £1.50 each.
Campsite fees direct to owner, NB Cash Only.
****SBC FAMILY AND FRIENDS FRIDAY*****
Friday 9th. June from 5pm onwards.
This Friday, featuring Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) and QAC’s new boat, a Coracle!
Prepare to get wet. We don’t even know if the coracle is watertight.
Bar open, please bring your own picnic, BBQ or tea.
For those camping overnight, we may have very early morning SUP before they are returned. Also volunteers required to help put up marquee for following weekend.
Volunteers also needed to help assist with activities on Friday night, thank you.
QAC CAMP AT SBC
To kick start the summer season QAC will hold their first camp at the Soar Boating Club on the weekend of Friday 12th to Sunday 14th May. This is open to all members, but may be particularly useful to inexperienced campers.
For those who actually read this stuff and take it in you will notice the Friday night coincides with the first Family and Friends Friday. Yes, it was arranged that way,
Friday; Pitch camp and Family and Friends evening.
Saturday: Day paddle from Cossington Mill (or Mountsorrell) to SBC, via back waters and Quorn Loop.
Saturday Evening: Group BBQ.
Sunday: Leisurely paddle to Kegworth, (possibly further) and break camp.
Family and Friends Fridays
Once a month throughout the Summer, QAC we will be hosting a Family and Friends Friday at the boat club. These will start at 5pm. All SBC members and their families and friends will be welcome.
Supervised kayaking and canoeing will be available for a small fee. Hopefully there will be a variety of informal field games.
The bar will be open and although there will be no organised food available, you will be encouraged to bring your own BBQ, picnic etc and spend the evening at the club.

Sunday 15 th Jan 12.30 starting at 1 pm on the water. Approximately a three hour paddle from SBC.
Boozy hot chocolate supplied pre paddle, non alcholic version for those on a new year health kick.

Post Christmas Paddle.
13.00hrs. Short local paddle. Details to follow.

Sunday 4th December:
Pre Christmas paddle.
Loughborough Loop starting with breakfast at the boat club. (Jon has offered to prepare the breakfast)
What better way to start Christmas festivities?
Breakfast at 8.30am and on the water at 9.00am
We then paddle through Loughborough on the canal to Pilling’s, transfer to the river for the paddle back to Normanton.
Maybe finish with a drink in the clubhouse?
Don’t forget festive packed lunch and treats.#

Wednesday 7th December:
Informal get together for past,present and possible future QAC paddlers. Family and friends also welcome.
7.30pm onwards at The White Hart, Church Gate Loughborough, LE11 1UD.

Sunday 18th December:
15.00hrs. Decorate your boat with fairy lights, paddle to the SBC Carol Service at Normanton Church. Return in the dark along the Soar to Zouch and back to the club for mince pies etc.
